On February 21, 2025, the Lady Mackenzie Leadership Team will be hosting a Winterfest Outdoor Education Day for our Kindergarten to Grade 4 students.
Outdoor activities will include opportunities to go snowshoeing, build snow sculptures, sledding, snow sports, tug-o-war and other winter stations that engage students in winter fun and learning.
To prepare for Winterfest, families are encouraged to ensure students have proper winter gear in order to be outside and enjoy their time at Winterfest.
The following list of outdoor gear will ensure a fun and pleasant experience for your child at Winterfest: warm hat, waterproof mitts/extra mitts, neck warmer, winter coat and snow pants, warm winter boots, a change of socks, and layered clothing underneath winter gear.
Students will be participating in activities for the duration of 45 minutes. Although this time frame does not appear to be lengthy, this is in addition to recess and possibly other physical education time outside during the day.
