Held over three dates in each area of the Board, Trillium Lakelands District School Board (TLDSB) recently celebrated students and their artistic talents through the 2026 Arts Showcase.
Now in its third year, the annual event took place in the City of Kawartha Lakes on April 9 at I.E. Weldon Secondary School, in Muskoka on April 22 at the TLDSB Muskoka Education Centre, and in Haliburton on April 29 at the Fleming College – Haliburton Campus.
To enter art into this event, students were challenged to select an expressive medium of visual or performative arts and work individually or collaboratively in a pair, small group, or whole class to create a piece of art. This year’s showcase challenged students to consider how they might create art from an eco-conscious lens, by using natural, recycled, repurposed, and/or materials already in school buildings. A broad collection of these pieces were selected to be on display at the region showcases.
